Can City Emulate United’s Treble 20 Years On?

Manchester City are now being backed to win a treble of their own, exactly 20 years on from Manchester United’s triumph against Bayern Munich in the Nou Camp completed a fortnight in which they lifted three major trophies.

Pep Guardiola’s side all but booked their spot in the EFL Cup final with a 9-0 drubbing of League One’s Burton Albion in the semi-final first leg on Wednesday night, to go alongside their 7-0 defeat of Rotherham in the FA Cup third round.

While a clean sweep of four trophies including the EFL Cup has been backed into 40/1 from 66/1.

The Premier League is the only tournament of the four that the Citizens are not the current favourites to win, with league leaders Liverpool shading the advantage at 4/5 to City’s 6/5.
