“Chelsea have shored up that defence under Thomas Tuchel and the only thing letting them down is the disappointment of Lukaku,” she says.
“But I think a lot of it is down to the loss of Ben Chilwell and Reece James, because they were so pivotal to Chelsea’s attack at the start of the season, which fed in to Lukaku in that central striking role.
“When he is only getting seven touches of the ball in a game against Crystal Palace, they have needed Hakim Ziyech to step up and he can be a match-winner for them.
“When you’re scoring goals, for one you can’t be dropped, but you’ve also got that buzz about you and that confidence. When it falls to Ziyech on his left foot he can be dangerous and the positivity around him is needed especially with Lukaku misfiring.
“I think he can score against Lille. They are having a torrid time domestically so it is a good time for Chelsea to be taking them on.
“But I don’t expect a high-scoring game because Chelsea haven’t been doing that in the main and performances haven’t been as they’d like them to be.”
