FA Cup History

Eight time winners Chelsea meet seven time winners Liverpool in this years FA Cup final at Wembley Stadium for the first time since 2012, when Roberto Di Matteo’s Chelsea took a 2-1 victory.

Chelsea have been involved in four FA Cup finals since then, only winning on one of those occasions, against Manchester United in 2018. They are involved in their third FA Cup final in a row on Saturday evening, after losing to Leicester City last year & record winners Arsenal in 2020. Third time lucky?

Chelsea are currently 13/5 in the match betting, with Liverpool heading the betting at 21/20 and draw at 23/10.

ALL FA CUP FINAL ODDS ARE HERE

This will be Jurgen Klopp’s first ever FA Cup final and Liverpool’s first in a decade, since that 2012 defeat to Chelsea. During Klopp’s reign at Liverpool the FA Cup has never been a priority, until this season.

They’ve collected the Premier League, Champions League, Club World Cup & most recently the Carabao Cup against Chelsea, during his six & a half year reign in Merseyside, and there’s no doubt he’ll want to add to that collection with an unprecedented quadruple on the cards this season.

Liverpool are 1/2 favourites in the betting to lift the trophy, whilst Chelsea are 7/5.

Season Form

Liverpool have been remarkable in the 2021/22 season, with incredible records in every competition they’ve played in, especially in the goalscoring department with an abundance of quality at their disposal. They’ve managed 140 goals in 58 appearances in all competitions, with 13 goals in the FA Cup.

Liverpool’s forward line has been so pottant this season with incredible squad depth aiding Klopp to put out a dangerous attacking force in every single one of their 58 matches in all competitions.

As a team this season they’ve averaged an incredible 18 shots per game, in comparison to Chelsea’s 15.7.

Liverpool to score in both halves has been boosted to 9/4, from 2/1!

Goalscorers

Liverpool’s attacking force obviously pose the most threat in this final, but don’t rule out some of Chelsea’s big game players.

Kai Havertz has had a solid season for Chelsea, with 13 goals & 6 assists in all competitions for the blues & with history of scoring big goals in finals, scoring the winning goal in last seasons Champions League Final against Manchester City.

The German is 15/2 to score first or 9/4 to score anytime in the betting.

However, it’s impossible to ignore the threat from Liverpool’s forward line & their star man, Mohamed Salah has found the net an impressive 30 times in all competitions this season. He’s been boosted from 5/4, to 13/10 to score anytime.

Fancy both teams to score in the match? That’s currently 8/13 in the betting.

Prediction

Liverpool will come in to this match with every belief they can beat Chelsea, with still a quadruple possible & Chelsea’s recent form haunting them, this looks like the FA Cup will heading back to Merseyside for the first time since 2006.

But this doesn’t mean Chelsea won’t put up a fight, so we’re predicting both teams to score & Liverpool to win at 14/5.
