Coventry Confidence Grows As Promotion Odds Are Clipped

Coventry City are coming in for some early support for a successful Championship campaign after their schedule for the 2021/22 season was revealed on Thursday.

The Sky Blues begin their new campaign back at the soon to be renamed Coventry Building Society Arena with Nottingham Forest the first visitors of the season.

The first away trip of the campaign takes them to Barnsley a week later, while Mark Robins’ side will also be on the road for the final day of the season when they travel to Stoke City in May.

Despite a campaign spent close to the drop zone, Coventry rallied towards the end of last season to finish twelve points clear of relegation after five wins in their final eight matches and they are already being backed to pick up where they off left after a 6-1 final day victory over Millwall.

Coventry have shortened slightly already into 13/8 from 7/4 to get off to a winning start against Nottingham Forest,

while the chances of securing Premier League football for the first time since the 2000/01 season have also been clipped into 12/1 from 16/1.

Coventry are 50/1 shots to go up to the Premier League as Champions, with Fulham the early 11/2 favourites to bounce straight back up to the top-flight after their relegation last season.
