England Women To Bring Football Home?

England are one of the four main favourites ahead of kick-off in next month’s Women’s World Cup in France.

Phil Neville’s side go into the 8th staging of the event on a high after winning the recent round robin SheBelieves Cup, holding off the challenge of Brazil as well as the two most recent World Champions in Japan and USA.

We have chalked up the Lionesses as 6/1 shots with just three teams ahead of them in the betting

…as they attempt to improve on their third-place finish four years ago in Canada.

Hosts France are the 10/3 favourites this time round, with USA 7/2 shots to claim their 4th World Cup. 2003 and 2007 Champions Germany are 11/2 third favourites as they look to complete a World Cup hat-trick.

Scotland, who kick off their campaign with a clash against neighbours England on June 9th, are 100/1 despite recording some impressive recent results including a 1-0 victory over Brazil last time out.

Scotland would be classed as dark horses at 100/1 but they won their qualification group with 7 wins from 8 and they have a recent victory over Brazil under their belt. It’s a difficult group but third place may even prove enough to go through, so they’re a side whose stock could rise with a good result.
