Erik Ten Hag Already Odds-on To Draw Trophy Blank At Manchester United

Erik Ten Hag is up against it at Manchester United according to the odds after he was officially announced as the new permanent manager at Old Trafford.

It was confirmed on Thursday that the Dutchman will take the reins at the end of the season, with Ralf Rangnick set to move into another role with the worst win percentage of any Manchester United manager in the Premier League era in the low 40s.

Ten Hag is odds-on at 10/11 to improve on that by ending his United tenure with a win percentage between 50-55%, but the chances of him boasting a percentage above 60% by the end of his stint are rated at a remote 12/1.

The outgoing Ajax boss is an 8/11 shot with BoyleSports to leave Old Trafford without adding a single trophy to the cabinet,

…with the League Cup rated his most likely source of silverware at 4/1.

Titles Abound?

He has however been backed into 5/1 from 6/1 to deliver a first league title since the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson, while a Champions League win is less likely according to odds of 6/1.

Tuesday’s 4-0 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield means Manchester United face an uphill struggle to finish in the top four this season, with their chances pushed all the way out to 16/1 from 8/1 ahead of an away trip to Arsenal this weekend.
