Freddie Ljungberg Leads Betting For Arsenal Hotseat

Next Permanent Arsenal Manager

Outright Betting

Freddie Ljungberg has become the early favourite to be the next permanent manager of Arsenal after Unai Emery’s stint in charge was brought to an end on Friday morning.

The Spaniard was sacked following Arsenal’s 2-1 defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League, their seventh consecutive game without a victory.

The new manager is now tasked with bridging an 8-point gap to the top four with the Gunners lying 8th in the Premier League table going into Sunday’s encounter with Norwich.

Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Nuno Espirito Santo was immediately chalked up as the favourite for the job but the bulk of the money instead was focused on former Gunners midfielder Freddie Ljungberg, who has been placed in interim charge in the wake of Emery’s exit.

The Swede has already been backed into 9/4 favourite from 3/1, with Santo eased out to 3/1 from his initial quote of 6/4.

Former Juventus manager Max Allegri has also seen plenty of interest and has quickly closed to 3/1 from 12/1, while former Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino is 15/2 to make a controversial move across North London.
