Klinsmann New Favourite For England Job

Next Permanent England Manager

Outright Betting

After Roy Hodgson resigned following England’s exit from Euro 2016, the big question was who would follow in his footsteps.

Early favourite and the man who missed the spot kick that knocked the national side out of their home tournament during Euro ‘96, Gareth Southgate, initially saw support that installed him as the early front runner at 6/4.

Since then, the former England centre back has drifted out to 10/1 and been replaced as favourite by current US Men’s National Team coach Jurgen Klinsmann, who was backed from 25/1 into 5/1.

Just behind Klinsmann in the betting at 6/1 is former England manager Glen Hoddle who took over in 1996 after the aforementioned Euro campaign until 1999. Along with Southgate at 10/1 is current Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe and Sunderland boss Sam Allardyce.

Hodgson’s second in command Gary Neville can be backed at 18/1 while Match Of The Day pundit Alan Shearer has seen his support drop as he is now 20/1 from 12/1. Some support has come for newly available Laurent Blanc after he left his position with PSG and he has been cut from 20/1 to 12/1.
