Newcastle United Advice For Allan Saint-Maximin & Matt Targett Surprise

Former Newcastle United striker Louis Saha has backed Toon ace Allan Saint-Maximin to kick on further in the Premier League next season.

The Frenchman has always been one to get fans off their seats with his mazy runs and trickery, but with Eddie Howe’s side looking to strengthen further this summer, Saint-Maximin needs to be part of the future.

That’s according to his fellow countryman Saha, who started his career in England with Newcastle on loan from Metz in 1999.

Saha also speaks about Newcastle’s aims for next season and his surprise at landing left-back Matt Targett so easily from Aston Villa, below!

Lots of people are tipping Newcastle to reach the Europa League places next year, is that a realistic target for Eddie Howe next season?

Eddie Howe and Newcastle have to have the belief that they can win every game because anything is possible in football.

We’ve seen Leicester win the Premier League so this Newcastle team need to aim to do the best every day and during every game they play – that’s the aim of every top competitor and Newcastle should aim for the biggest target possible.

WE HAVE SPECIALS ON LIVERPOOL NEW SIGNING DARWIN NUNEZ FOR NEXT SEASON

Newcastle recently secured the permanent signing of Matt Targett, are you surprised that Steven Gerrard let go of such a talented defender?

I’m surprised Steven Gerrard let Targett go so easily, but when you have a player like him whose desire is to move to a bigger club like Newcastle then you have to respect that.

The fans will have to see how things go next season – I really hope Matt enjoys his football because he’s already shown that he’s a quality player.

Allan Saint-Maximin is rumoured to be leaving, how important is it that he stays a Newcastle player?

Allan is a terrific player, but no player is irreplaceable.

Allan helped Newcastle massively last season. He’s a really confident player, I love his style and he’s a real asset who can improve and fulfil his potential.

He just needs to make himself easier to read for his teammates because he’s certainly already unpredictable for opposition players.

I hope Newcastle recruit well and give Saint-Maximin the right competition.
