Seeley’s Selections – Leicester v Liverpool
Leicester v Liverpool
We know it’s approaching Christmas not because of the TV adverts or the X Factor coming to a close (thankfully), it’s the time of year when the Premier League fixture lists go a little crazy.
The games come thick and fast at and it’s a crucial period for teams at both ends of the table.
This midweek sees a full Premier League set of fixtures all available on the Boylesports coupons but the game we are concentrating one is the live TV clash from the King Power Stadium on Tuesday night where strugglers Leicester take on mid-table Liverpool.
After a very good start for Nigel Pearson’s Foxes they have been found out in recent weeks and are now at the foot of the table after a winless run of eight games.
At the weekend they played their part in an entertaining 3-2 defeat at QPR, which ended the recent goal drought but never got them the a point the performance deserved.
They are available for this one at a massive 14/5 with Boylesports and although they are out of form, I’m really tempted by those quotes.
The performance at the weekend will encourage backers, as to will their home form, despite being at the foot of the division they’ve only lost once at the King Power all season holding Everton and Arsenal and famously tearing Manchester United apart 5-3 back in September.
Liverpool struggled at Anfield in their 1-0 win against Stoke at the weekend, which was their first win in six matches and despite that victory they did nothing in the performance to convince me and don’t warrant the short odds of evens in this one with Boylesports.
Liverpool’s away form is shocking.
Just one win from their last seven and anybody taking those short odds on the Reds’, regardless if they win are not, hasn’t really got the grasp of this betting malarky just yet.
Brendan Rodgers is still a man under huge pressure despite the weekend win and with some defining games coming up against FC Basel in the Champions League, Manchester United in the Premier League and Bournemouth in the Capital One Cup and he can’t afford anymore slip-ups.
Talking of slip-ups, captain Steven Gerrard was dropped at the weekend, rightly so in my book and with talk of dressing rooms feuds between the captain and manager in a popularity contest between the two there is only one going to be one winner.
With so much at stake for both sides and their managers, I can see this being a very tight and cagey affair.
Six of Leicester’s last eight matches have featured less than three goals and at Boylesports’ offer of 20/21 that’s my best bet in this one.
It’s impossible to have a confident wager on a first goalscorer with the inability from either sides forwards to score goals.
Argentinian veteran Esteban Cambiasso netted the opener on Saturday against QPR and landed the “Double Bubble” and I’m going to take a bit of the 16/1 with Boylesports and hope he can do so again, at the age of 47 he has a much better chance of scoring early than late.
At the weekend we landed the “Double Bubble” after Boylesports doubled the odds of Everton’s Kevin Mirallas from 8/1 to a tasty 16/1 after he scored the opener at White Hart Lane inside the first 20 minutes and remember this offer is available on all of this midweek Premier League matches as well.
Under 2.5 Goals @ 20/21
Esteban Cambiasso First Goalscorer @ 16/1 (32/1 Double Bubble)
