Seeley’s Selections – Arsenal v Sunderland Stats & Tips

It’s a huge game at the top and the bottom of the Premier League on Wednesday night with strugglers, Sunderland, making the long trip south to take on Champions League-bound, Arsenal, at the Emirates.

The visitors need just a point with two games to go to secure Premier League football at Wearside next season, but those two matches are at Arsenal and champions, Chelsea – it looks certain to go down to the wire.

If Dick Advocaat tries to go here and defend for the crucial point by parking the red and white bus, it will certainly end in disaster. Unfortunately, I think that is the only option he’s got in this one.

The Gunners are 3/10 with BoyleSports; you will need to risk a few quid at those prices to make it worth your while and many will choose not to after they got their fingers burnt last Monday at a similar price at home to Swansea.

Arsenal haven’t been impressive in their last two performances, and they should win this one, but I won’t be backing them outright.

They did win this fixture 4-1 last season, which is 16/1 this time around with BoyleSports, and although they’ve won six of their last eight against the visitors, by some convincing score-lines, I believe this will be a very nervy affair with so much at stake for both teams – goals will be at a premium.

Arsene Wenger’s side have been stuttering in front of goal in recent weeks whilst the Black Cats have been stuttering all season with just 30 goals scored in the Premier League this campaign: the main reason why they find themselves in the position they do.

Under 2.5 goals is a surprisingly big price in this one at 5/4 with BoyleSports and one I will certainly be getting involved in.

Wenger’s boys couldn’t break down a resolute Swansea defence in their last home match and I can see them struggling to break down Sunderland again on Wednesday. I think Arsenal will find a way, though, and just edge this one 2-0, which is available at 11/2 with BoyleSports.

Arsenal to win to nil is my favourite bet in the game at 21/20 with BoyleSports.

I just can’t see the Wearsiders scoring and that is a much better way of getting with the home side rather than taking the heavy odds on.

I always like playing the draw-Arsenal half-time/full-time double result which I will again be chucking a couple of quid on at 14/5 with BoyleSports.

The Gunners always take a bit of time to break visiting team defences down, but nobody scores more late goals than the Gunners and another late, late show is expected.

I can see Wenger ringing the changes for this one to freshen up his side up a bit after two recent below-par performances, and also to motivate the side into a show with the incentive of starting places in the FA Cup final up for grabs.

I’m expecting England duo Jack Wilshere and Theo Walcott to start in this one, and I like the 11/2 with BoyleSports on Walcott to score the first goal – if he is chosen.

Walcott changed the game for Arsenal at Old Trafford and he always seems to shine against teams in the bottom half of the table. With talk of a swap deal between him and Raheem Sterling it could be a good time to show Brendan Rodgers what he can do.

REMEMBER Double Bubble if your winning first goalscorer selection nets the opener inside the first 20 minutes BoyleSports will double the odds on that player and an early Walcott goal will see us paid out at a juicy 11/1.

Seeley’s Selections:
Under 2.5 Goals @ 5/4
Arsenal To Win To Nil @ 21/20
Draw Half-time/Arsenal Full Time @ 14/5
First Goalscorer – Theo Walcott @ 11/2

B Lucky.
