Seeley’s Selections – Chelsea v Everton

Chelsea v Everton

Match Betting

Chelsea host Everton on Wednesday night in the live Premier League clash looking for three points to take them a step closer to a fourth Premier League crown.

I can’t see anything other than a home win in this one, but could I back them at the 1/3 available with BoyleSports?…not a chance. Jose Mourinho’s men have only lost once in their last eight matches and that was in the FA Cup against Bradford and with that still freshly in my mind at the heavy odds-on, I’m jogging on. Chelsea couldn’t have had a better weekend and although they were far from convincing in their 2-1 win at Aston Villa, they got the all three points on a weekend where all their title contenders dropped points.

They come into this match SEVEN points clear at the of the table and it’s not just Everton fans that will be hoping for a 19/2 upset in this one; BoyleSports’ odds compilers along with Man City, Man Utd, Arsenal, Tottenham and Livepool supporters will be cheering on the Toffees but history is against us all. Everton haven’t won at Stamford Bridge in 24 visits and the last time they got maximum points was back in 1994 when Baby D was top of the charts with Let Me Be Your Fantasy (they don’t make tunes like that anymore).

Jose Mourinho doesn’t lose games like this in the Premier League and they aren’t going to on Wednesday night either. The best way to get with the “Special One” is to take the very generous 21/20 with BoyleSports on them to win to nil.

In the last 12 Stamford Bridge wins, 10 of them have been “won to nil” and against a powder-puff Everton strike-force which will be led by Romelu Lukaku who could very easily down tools when the Chelsea boo-boys get stuck into him, that does look the best bet by far in this one.

The best Roberto Martinez can hope for is a draw and after five stalemates in their last six matches, that could prove popular again with BoyleSports punters at 9/2.

I looked at the under 2.5 goals in this one at BoyleSports’ 21/20 and thought that was worthy of support. Everton drew 0-0 at the weekend in the Merseyside derby; that was their second 0-0 in the last seven games and in that period SIX have featured under 2.5 goals. But instead of playing that market I was drawn across to the correct scores and 1-0 and 2-0 home wins at 11/2 and 5/1 which to level stakes mean we are betting either one of those correct scores at 11/5.

It was 1-0 last season when the two met and now with Everton towards the foot of the table and in desperate need for points, I really can see Martinez parking the blue bus in this one. Diego Costa is still suspended for the Blues and in his absence, none of the other strikers have stepped up to the plate and delivered the goals.

The midfielders have been scoring all the goals and one man who’s recent performances deserve some credit is Oscar and I’m taking him to get the plaudits in this one with the opener at 5/1 with BoyleSports. Hopefully the Brazilian gets an early one to land the “Double Bubble” bonus which is double the odds if your winning first goalscorer scores inside the first 20 minutes.

B Lucky!
