Seeley’s Selections: England v San Marino

England v San Marino

Match Betting

It’s an international break this week, don’t you just love it?….No me neither.

Well the England football team will be hoping to get the nation to fall back in love with them on Thursday night when a team of rank amateurs line up against San Marino.
England take to the pitch as 1/250 favourites with Boylesports to beat the part-timers and they will, but the main question for Boylesports punters is by what score? And who will get the goals?

The two sides met in season 2012-2013 and the Three Lions beat the butchers, bakers and the candlestick makers 8-0 and 5-0. You can get odds of 15/2 and 6/1 on those scorelines this time around with Boylesports.

If you go back to the 1994 World Cup qualifying campaign, they met again with a Graham Taylor inspired England winning 6-0 and 7-1 those score-lines are 11/2 and 20/1 on Thursday with Boylesports.

Back then, they famously took a 1-0 lead after just eight seconds through bus driver Davide Gualtieri but there is no chance of that happening again and they are 19/2 to score the first goal at Wembley on Thursday.

Gualtieri might want to park his bus in front of Joe Hart’s goal to give his countrymen any chance in this one and Boylesports have them at 50/1 to produce the biggest shock in international football history. If you are new to this, £1 on San Marino at 50/1 means you…lose a quid.

So how do we make money? The last time these two met at Wembley, it took the Three Lions a bit of time to break their opponents down with the first goal coming in the 35th minute through a Wayne Rooney penalty.

Boylesports are predicting the time of the first goal on Thursday to be before or after the 12th minute and I can see the part-timers frustrating “Woy’s Boys” and I’m taking the 4/5 on the opener being scored after that mark.

Once the first goal does go in they are usually like buses and a lot more should follow. I’m liking England to win 6-0 and 7-0 which are both available at 11/2 and 6/1 and works out as a 9/4 chance to land one of those scorelines.

In that last Wembley match-up, Danny Welbeck grabbed a brace and now with the absence of Daniel Sturridge, the Arsenal hit-man is expected to spearhead the attack and at 12/5 with Boylesports to open the floodgates, I’m all over the inform striker. Remember, Boylesports are also offering cash back if your First Goalscorer scores the second goal instead!

Seeley’s Selections:
Time Of First Goal: After the 12th minute @ 4/5
Danny Welbeck First Goalscorer @ 12/5

B Lucky!
