Seeley’s Selections – Rochdale v Stoke City

THE nation has fallen back in love with the FA Cup, well I know the BoyleSports football department have after the weekends results but if you are an old romantic and love the greatest cup competition of them all then I would suggest going out tomorrow evening.

The Monday night football promises to be one for the cynics of the competition with the evening clash from Spotland between Rochdale and Stoke.

Most Premier League sides wouldn’t relish the trip to the League One side in freezing, wet conditions but this is Stoke…

They love those kind of conditions and there will be no gloves on show apart from the goalkeeper for Mark Hughes’ side.

The Potters are 4/6 to win this with BoyleSports and although they are on a good run of form with just one lose in their last six games I couldn’t touch them at that price as the home side are on a decent run as well.

Keith Hill’s side have won their last three matches and they will have their supporters at 19/4 with BoyleSports especially after the weekends shock results but i much prefer the chances of the draw which is available at a very generous 3/1 with BoyleSports.

The BBC haven’t been very lucky with their choices in the FA Cup this week with shocks all over the place, their first two matches have both finished in draws and we viewers haven’t even seen a goal yet.

I was tempted by another 0-0 in this one and no goalscorer was on my betdar at 10/1 with BoyleSports, but when you look at the recent goal scoring record for both teams that was quickly ruled out.

Stoke have only failed to score once in their last 10 matches and that was against in-form Arsenal and in the same period Rochdale have averaged two a game so both teams to score is expected at the bargain 5/6 with BoyleSports.

With both teams to score and the draw expected if you want a better return for your money then I wouldn’t rule out a 1-1 draw which is available at 6/1 with BoyleSports.

I fully expect Hughes to go with a very strong line-up in this one and they will really fancy their chances of making another Wembley final after the extraordinary results this weekend.
Former Barcelona playmaker Bojan will achieve a lifetime ambition by playing at Rochdale and he should show his quality in a match like this and the 5/1 with BoyleSports on the Spaniard to open the scoring looks a decent play.

Seeley’s Selections
Both Teams To Score @ 5/6
Correct score 1-1 @ 6/1
Bojan To Score 1st @ 5/1
