Saturday’s live Premier League football offerings really have an end of season feel about them this weekend with the first game of the day the “Battle For Sixth” place between Southampton and Tottenham down at St Mary’s.

These two are playing for the right to be feature in the Europa League next season and it’s fair to say that only one of these teams will really want that honour and that’s the hosts.

Do Tottenham really want to win this? A win which will put themselves in the box seat for Europa League football again next term? They’ve gone on the record to say that they don’t want to be playing in the competition next season as the demands of the tough Thursday fixtures to obscure European outposts each week has taken it’s toll on them towards the end of this campaign.

If Mauricio Pochettino wasn’t coming back to his former employees, I would make Southampton a massive bet for this one and even though this reunion is a problem, I still do like the Saints’ chances at the 11/10 with BoyleSports.

Southampton were amongst the bookies favourites for the drop at the start of the campaign and for them now to be within touching distance of European football, well that is an amazing achievement. Ronald Koeman would relish leading his side into Europe next term, to add to his ever growing CV and if he does achieve that in his first full year at St Mary’s, he deserves to be crowned the Premier League manager of the season.

Southampton have the tightest defence in the Premier League only conceding 24 goals and no team has had fewer shots to face this season than Southampton.

10 of the last 11 Southampton games have seen under 2.5 goals and against a Tottenham side that are struggling to score away from home, the 3/4 with BoyleSports on this match being another tight one looks a great wager.

Pochettino beat his former club 1-0 in the reverse fixture at White Hart Lane earlier in the season and that was the fifth successive time that Spurs have beaten Southampton, but I fancy the Saints to to get their revenge on Saturday. Man City v Aston Villa, Saturday 5:30, live on Sky Sports 1
If the early game is expected to be tight, the same can’t be said for the Saturday evening match from the Etihad where the champions Manchester City take on an in-form Aston Villa.

Have a little look at these odds on offer and think about this. City come into this match in total disarray.

They’ve just three wins from their last nine matches, players want out, the manager has lost the dressing room and have injuries to key players ahead of this one and they are 1/4 with BoyleSports to win this.

Villa arrive full of confidence. They’ve just booked their place in the FA Cup with their best performance of the season against Liverpool, they’ve lost just two matches in the last eight, they have a new manager who everybody is playing for, they have a striker in red-hot form and they are a MASSIVE 13/1 with BoyleSports.

So you know what to do then, but before we get stuck in, a word of caution. City have won more Premier League games and scored more Premier League goals against Aston Villa than any other team. Many people believe that it will be hard for Sherwood to get Villa up for this after the high of Wembley last weekend, Jack Grealish has had a week of highs and he and his Villa teammates will relish this opportunity to play the champions and with points still needed for Premier League survival, motivation will not be a problem.

City won 2-0 at home to West Ham last week, but they were far from impressive and if they play like that and Villa produce a similar performance to what they produced against Liverpool last week, then Villa will win and at the industry best 13/1 with BoyleSports, I’m taking a chance on them.

Christian Benteke is unstoppable at the moment and the Belgium international has now scored 10 goals in his last nine matches and I’m all over the 21/10 on him scoring at the Ethiad and he’s worth a punt at the 15/2 available on him open the scoring.
