Seeley’s Selections – Tottenham v Sheffield United – Capital One Cup

Tottenham v Sheffield United

Match Betting

Pinch myself I must be dreaming. What another incredible Monday night football it was for all the followers of this column with yet another full house of winning tips when Everton and West Brom played out a dire 0-0 at Goodison Park.

It’s been an absolute staggering winning start to 2015 and I’m very confident this incredible tipping run will continue when Tottenham entertain League One side Sheffield United at White Hart Lane in the Capital One Cup semi-final 1st leg.

Over the years if any side were going to let you down as red-hot 4/11 favourites then Tottenham would be high up on many people’s lists. If you are going to get involved in the odds-on quotes then good luck, as I do think they will win but this is going to be far from easy and taking the 4/11 with BoyleSports should come with a public wealth warning.

As I mentioned earlier, I do expect a Tottenham victory but there are much better ways to get financially involved on Mauricio Pochettino’s side in this match than taking those short prices on the home win. Sheffield United have punched way above their weight in cup competitions over the the last few seasons with the highlight making the FA Cup semi-final last year and they know exactly what to do in the knock-out tournaments.

They’ve already beaten and scored against Premier League sides QPR, Southampton and West Ham this season and Nigel Clough’s side will be very confident that they can produce another 9/1 with BoyleSports shock in this one. I really can’t see that, but I can see them scoring against their Premier League opponents again.

In Tottenham’s last eight matches both teams have scored in seven games and that’s the first bet I like in this one at 10/11 with BoyleSports.

Tottenham beat Sunderland at White Hart Lane 2-1 at the weekend and that was the eighth time in their last 12 wins that they have won by that score-line and at 7/1 with BoyleSports, that’s another way of playing the home side rather than taking the tiny quotes on them just to win.

One thing about Clough’s team is that they don’t go down without a fight, they haven’t lost by more than one goal in any of their last 25 matches and even though I think they will lose, I believe the tie will be far from over going into the second leg at Brammall Lane.

Tottenham are struggling for goals from any striker other than Harry Kane and Nacer Chadli will miss the game through personal reasons. Christian Eriksen has weighed in with some very important goals already this season and the Danish international is 6/1 with BoyleSports to open the scoring but I would much prefer to play on the 23/20 about the Tottenham play-maker to score at anytime in the 90-minutes.

B Lucky!
