Seeley’s Selections – Tuesday’s Champions League

Stats

Man City v Roma

Match Betting

After a nice start to this column in the Premier League at the weekend, we move to the continent where one thing is on the menu on Tuesday evening…goals.

Boylesports customers will be looking to make themselves some money from the midweek Champions League fixtures and I think goals are the best way to go about doing just that.

Let’s start at Chelsea. Mourinho’s men head to the Portuguese capital as 4/6 favourites against a Sporting side that are unbeaten in their last 16 European home games.

The Blues had a disappointing start to their Champions League campaign, only managing a 1-1 draw with Schalke. They will be looking to pick up their first three points against a pretty reasonable Lisbon side and at 4/6 I wouldn’t be looking to back them.

Boylesports customers can get much better value on the goals market.

Both teams to score is priced up at a very tasty 10/11. Neither of the sides have drawn a blank so far this season and I expect the goals to fly here.

Both sides have goal threats all over the pitch and over 2.5 goals could also be a solid punt at 10/11.

Over to Manchester now, where the Premier League Champions face a Roma side who are a lot stronger than Boylesports are making out.

City are too short at 8/13 for me to be getting involved with. Roma showed they are a quality side by destroying CSKA Moscow 5-1 in their opening game. The Italian side are 17/4 to win the game but I think the draw at 16/5 is a better place to earn yourself some money.

Something I’m convinced about in this one is goals again. City and Roma boast wonderful attacking quality in their squads and Pellegrini’s men don’t have a great defensive record in this competition. Both teams to score is definitely where I’d be heading again. Boylesports are offering 3/4 that the pair will net in this one.

There is a clear theme appearing from both games, and that theme is goals! There is some value to be had from Chelsea and City this midweek. The double on the “BTTS” pays just under 12/5 which to me looks great for a cheeky couple of quid!

B Lucky!
