Seeley’s Selections – Wales v Belgium Stats & Tips

A massive weekend of Euro 2016 qualifiers start with probably the best of the lot on Friday night with the Group B clash between Wales and Belgium in Cardiff.

These two nations are firmly in the box seat for Euro 2016 qualification with only goal difference separating the pair at the top of the table but the BoyleSports odds compilers think that means very little for this one.

Belgium are odds-on favourite at 3/4 to return to Brussels with maximum points from their toughest trip in the group and many will fancy a bit of that.

Marc Wilmots’ squad arrive in fantastic form: they’ve not lost since their narrow 1-0 defeat to Argentina at last summer’s World Cup and are full of confidence after a 4-3 friendly win against France last week.

This pair played out a boring 0-0 draw in the return fixture last November, but I expect it to be very different this time around with goals very much expected.

The Belgians have scored 13 of the beauties in qualification and with Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey in the Welsh ranks they will always be a goal threat.

In last week’s 4-3 friendly victory against the French, Belgium were unstoppable going forward and should’ve scored six or seven but defensively they were a shambles and takers of a Wales win at the 4/1 with BoyleSports will be heartened by that defensive show and even more so now that influential skipper Vincent Kompany is suspended for this clash.

I’m taking the weekend to start off in cracking style and my first bet I like is for both teams to score, which, despite the 0-0 last time the pair met, looks good to me at BoyleSports 21/20.

Wales have some injury concerns in defence and with Kompany 100% out that will encourage both sets of strikers.

I am also very keen on the 31/10 with BoyleSports on Belgium to win and both teams to score.

I can see the visitors just having a little to much quality and I like them to gain maximum points in this one by a 3-1 margin at a juicy 12/1 with BoyleSports.

Wales look set to employ Gareth Bales in a more advanced forward role to try to get at the Belgium rearguard and many will take the 11/2 on him scoring the opener with BoyleSports.

If the Welsh do score, which I think they will, then it’s very likely to be the Real Madrid ace and at the 7/4 with BoyleSports he’s a much better bet to score at anytime in the 90-minutes.

Kevin De Bruyne has been in tremendous form for Belgium and Wolfsburg this season, crowned the Bundesliga Player of the Year. The 15/2 on the former Chelsea winger bagging first looks lovely.
