A change of attitude from current players at Manchester United may help more than signing new players this summer.

That’s according to former striker Louis Saha, speaking to BoyleSports this week.

The Red Devils haven’t made a signing since appointing Erik Ten Hag as permanent manager, but Saha believes the new man in the dugout may be able to get a better tune out of the players already at the club.

“I do like the idea of Man United signing someone like Declan Rice,” Saha said.

“I think he’d help, but I also think the manager can help the current players too by talking to them and giving them the confidence higher up the pitch.

“There are too many players that are moaning at the club, whereas you have players like Bruno Fernandes who works hard and turns up fighting even when he’s not playing well. That’s the type of people that need to lead Man United forward.

“Bruno can definitely be the main man at Man United next season, he definitely has the quality to do that.

“I expected him to struggle a little bit because his form when he arrived was exceptional.

“During some games last season, the fans saw that he’s capable of doing amazing things, but to do it on a regular basis is the challenge and if the club is always in transition and always changing, it’s never easy for players.

“Bruno is definitely one of the star players, but a lot of players in the squad have to improve their game from last season as I believe only Cristiano Ronaldo and David de Gea can escape criticism.”
