Solskjaer Still Odds On To Be Man United Manager Next Season

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is still the overwhelming favourite to be Manchester United manager on the first day of next season despite suffering his first defeat in the Old Trafford dugout on Tuesday evening.

The interim manager, who had won 9 of his 10 games before the Champions League clash with Paris St Germain, saw star midfielder Paul Pogba sent off as his side went down 2-0 in the first leg against the French champions and Ligue 1 leaders.

The defeat has significantly damaged Manchester United’s Champions League chances which had closed into 20/1 from 50/1

…thanks to Solskjaer’s unbeaten start, but are now out to 100/1 with a deficit to overcome in the second leg in Paris in three weeks’ time. PSG meanwhile are into 11/2 third favourites from 7/1.

Solskjaer however is still likely to be in the Manchester United dugout for the kick-off of the 2019/20 season, despite drifting out to 2/5 from 1/3 after the PSG defeat. It’s 7/4 from 2/1 that Manchester United go into next season with any other manager in charge.
