Diarmuid Connolly To Play Hurling For Dublin In 2018?

Dublin’s All-Ireland winning football manager in 2011, Pat Gilroy, has been confirmed as the new senior hurling manager.

There has been much speculation surrounding his backroom team, with many predicting Galway’s former manager Anthony Cunningham will come on board.

St. Vincents clubman Gilroy will be hoping he can persuade Diarmuid Connolly to play hurling for the county in next year’s Championship…

and the football forward is currently 3/1 to do so.

Another superb hurler, who was instrumental when Cuala won the Club Championship, is Con O’Callaghan. He scored a sublime goal to open the scoring in this year’s football final between Dublin and Mayo and it would come as a surprise at 4/1 if he went back to playing hurling for his county.

Danny Sutcliffe is 1/3 to return after playing for New York in the Connacht football Championship. Both Mark and Paul Schutte are also expected to return to the hurling set up at 1/3 and 1/2 respectively. Another player, who has been out of the panel since the start of the 2016 Championship, is Colm Cronin. The Cuala man is expected to return at odds of 4/7.
