GAA Betting Tips For National Hurling League Division 1

All-Ireland winner Shane Dowling believes Waterford will prove to be the main dangers to his native Limerick as they prepare to begin their National Hurling League campaigns this weekend.

The Na Piarsaigh man spoke exclusively to BoyleSports’ Leon Blanche this week and feared Liam Cahill’s men have what it takes to put it up to the All-Ireland champions.

National Hurling League

“In the past, teams would have time to blood new players in the League and to trial things out. So, in previous years it would have been hard to predict the winner.

“But the way things have gone with the Championship tightening up,

managers are going to have to play their team that are going to take part in the Championship.

“There isn’t going to be a huge break between the League the Championship as there has been before.

The Competition

“Waterford are the one team that are going to have the capabilities and ammunition to take on Limerick. Although, they do have a tough opening game against Dublin.

“Tipperary are 6/1 and even though I do think they will beat Laois this weekend, there is a new manager. This means that there will be lots of transition so I can’t have them at the minute.

“Galway have a lot to prove even though they are under Henry Shefflin.

“I don’t think Cork are going to be concentrating on the League so much as the Championship. They will be looking to get back to where they were last year in terms of the All-Ireland.

Limerick

“Limerick are Evens favourites and they are a shorter price to win the All-Ireland. So if you are going to back them to win something this year then this is the competition, as it’s a bit more value.

“But if I was to have a few quid on another team it would definitely be Waterford at 8/1.”
