Jack O’Connor Backed To Replace Peter Keane As Kerry Boss

Jack O’Connor is being strongly backed to take over as manager of Kerry’s Senior Footballers following the announcement that he is stepping down after two years in charge of Kildare.

The Dromid Pearses man has already enjoyed two spells in charge of the Kingdom winning three All-Ireland titles and is now in the frame again with Peter Keane’s future up in the air following the expiration of his three-year term.

O’Connor has now been cut into 11/4 from 5/1 to make the switch to his native county, making him a close second favourite behind Keane to manage the side next season.

The latter is set for imminent discussions with the Kerry board and is an 8/13 shot to agree a new deal to stay in the role.

Former Wicklow boss Davy Burke meanwhile is the odds-on favourite at 4/6 to replace O’Connor at Kildare, with Tom Cribbin also prominent in the betting at 5/4.
