Kerry Shorten To Dent Dublin’s Drive For Five

Kerry are the new favourites to progress to the All-Ireland semi-finals as Group 1 winners after a commanding performance in their Super 8s opener against Mayo.

Peter Keane’s side cruised to a 1-22 to 0-15 victory to extend their long unbeaten Championship run at Fitzgerald Stadium and caught the eye of punters in the aftermath with their odds of an All-Ireland victory undergoing a significant cut.

Confidence in the Kingdom has skyrocketed since the full-time whistle as BoyleSports cut them into 4/7 from 6/4 to top the group, but they have also jumped up to 11/2 second favourites in the All-Ireland betting having been 9/1 shots before throw-in in Killarney.

Mayo’s defeat saw their All-Ireland chances pushed out to 33/1 from 9/1, while Donegal needed a strong finish to see off Meath and subsequently lost their favourite tag in the group, having drifted to 6/4 from 5/4.

Tyrone are 5/2 from 9/2 to top Group 2 and while Dublin remain the favourites, a somewhat laboured victory over Cork has seen their 1/5 chances eased to 2/7.

Kerry may have had their doubters, but they have attracted some large bets now on topping their group after the Mayo performance.

They have also leapfrogged both Donegal and Tyrone in the outright betting

and are now Dublin’s main dangers at if the money is anything to go by at 11/2 from 9/1.
