Returning Diarmuid Connolly Backed To Find The Net Against Tyrone

Diarmuid Connolly looks set to bring his Dublin exile to an end and he is already being backed to get amongst the scoring after his name featured on the bench to face Tyrone on a leaked teamsheet on social media.

The St Vincent’s man has not lined up in a championship game in the blue of Dublin since the 2017 All-Ireland Final when he came off the bench to contribute to Dublin’s third consecutive Sam Maguire triumph.

Now he looks set to aid their drive for five by starting on the bench for the Tyrone clash at Healy Park in Omagh, with both sides already assured of All-Ireland semi-final spots.

BoyleSports make the 32-year-old an 11/4 shot to return to action with a goal and he is 9/1 to score the first goal of the match. Dublin have been backed into 1/5 from 1/3 to win the match and remain clear 2/5 favourites to go on and land the All-Ireland spoils at Croke Park for the fifth year in a row.

Although weakened line-ups are expected, Sunday’s clash could prove to be a dress rehearsal for this year’s All-Ireland Final as the pair are just 15/8 to meet again in next month’s decider, with a Dublin v Kerry final rated a 9/4 chance.

With both teams already through, the Tyrone Dublin clash has been a tough one to call but…

Diarmuid Connolly’s potential return has added a real spark to the betting over the last 24 hours.

The bets are down for him to score on his return and his potential appearance has also seen Dublin backed into 1/5 from 1/3 on the eve of throw-in.
