Golden Horn Heads Irish Champions Stakes Betting

The John Gosden trained Golden Horn currently heads the Irish Champion Stakes market at 2/1, in a race that is currently up in the air as to who will turn up at the Foxrock venue on September 12th as part of Irish Champions Weekend.

The Epsom Derby winner, who suffered a shock defeat in the Juddmonte International at York last week, is now the clear 2/1 favourite get back to winning ways.

With participation fully unknown, Free Eagle has been eased out to 9/4 from 7/4 whilst Gleneagles has also been eased out to 3/1 from 11/4.

Last year’s winner, The Grey Gatsby, is next in the betting at 7/1 with Irish Derby winner Jack Hobbs on offer at 8/1.

Yorkshire Oaks winner, Pleascach, has been introduced into the betting at 10/1 alongside Sunday’s Royal Whip Stakes winner Found.

Arabian Queen who caused a shock to turn over Golden Horn at York is priced at 20/1.

Our traders believe that Golden Horn will turn up at Leopardstown and we are keen to keep the John Gosden Derby winner on side.

It’s fair to say that the Antepost book has been relatively quiet with running plans currently ground dependant for most of the runners. We have introduced Jim Bolger’s Pleascach and Aidan O’Brien’s Found into the betting at 10/1 as both their wins last week have earned them a place in the valuable G1 contest.
