Shane Lowry Backed To Win His Second Major In 2021

Another Shane Lowry landmark on the golf course is being backed to be one of 2021’s Irish sporting highlights as punters line up to get on the early New Year prices.

The Offaly man was denied the chance to defend his Open crown when last year’s event at Royal St. George’s was cancelled, but this year’s renewal at the same venue represents the best chance to add to his major tally according to the early betting.

Lowry is a 33/1 shot to pick up the Claret Jug again two years on from his famous victory at Portrush, while the chances of him becoming the first Irishman to wear the Green Jacket at the Masters are rated at 50/1.

But with four more opportunities ahead, the current World Number 33 has been backed down to 12/1 from 16/1 to win any of the major events this year

…with the USPGA seaside track of Kiawah Island also likely to suit his game.

American Bryson DeChambeau has been well backed to bag another major this year but it’s good to see the home support arriving for Lowry to prove his Open win was no fluke.
