Last Throw Of The Dice In Sevenhouses

BoyleSports Coursing Derby

Outright Betting

“And now, the end is near and so I face the final curtain”. It’s the last chance saloon for all this weekend in Sevenhouses!

Sevenhouses
There are two very competitive trial stakes on the card as well as a red hot Seamus Hughes Cup. Kingsmill Jasper and Judiligence both need to win to claim their place in the Champion Stakes, while Kingcormac Fairy just needs to make the final to book his place in the draw.

Only one of these can make the final so it’s going to be hell for leather from the word go. Down at the bottom of the draw there are three anxious ladies looking for points. Wins for either Coshair Pallas, Cree Gaisce and Pumpkin Kia will put them in the top eight. Gaisce and Coshair are meeting in the first course so connections will know their fate early.

Looking through the draw, Kingsmill Jasper looks to be the one in the top quartet of runners. The field and conditions should suit so connections will be hoping for a big run. Judiligence meets Loyal Lightning in the opening round, both of these have collected already this season.

Loyal won his All Age in New Ross early in the season but has disappointed since. If he brings his A game to the table for the first round he can upset Judiligence. I think Kingcormac Fairy has a bit of a job on his hands in the opening course against the speedy Carlingford. Both of these were beaten in the opening round in Templetuohy but Carlingford was beat in a very fast clock.

Ladies Day
In the second half of the draw all the attention will be on the ladies. Although Tellmemorelies and Wazowski might have something to say about this! Tellmemorelies has a win under his belt already in Rathkeale but only sits on five points. Hilark James is in the same position after his win in Enniscorthy. Wazowski was one of last season’s talking dogs but has never reproduced that form, if he returns to form he is capable of a huge run.

Then we have the four ladies in the last quartet, Coshair Pallas was last seen in action in Mooncoin where she ran up to Newinn Rose. This form has been flanked after Rose’s win in Tubbercurry last weekend.

Coshair gets the vote to beat Cree Gaisce in the first round! The last course in the Cup could be the buckle of the day in my opinion. Pumpkin Kia and Tilly The Tank. Pumpkin looked ultra-impressive in Castleisland but hasn’t sparkled since. She won her Oaks Trial Stake here last season so has a real liking for the course.

Tilly on the other hand is having her first run of the season. She is an Oaks semi-finalist and really thrived on the hill in Clonmel last season. Dinny Lennon will have her firing on all cylinders here so she could be the joker in the pack.

The last four in my opinion can be Kingsmill Jasper, Carlingford, Tellmemorelies and Tilly The Tank with the verdict going to Tellmemorelies at a bit of a price!

Derby Trial Stake
In the Derby Trial Stake the ones to keep an eye on are Stephens Bobby, City Back and Isle Of Destiny who was very unlucky in Mooncoin when the hare denied him in the third round. While in the Oaks Trial Stake I am very interested in Ballinakill Amy. She looked to fly in the first round in Charleville but was then withdrawn. If all is okay with this Tommy Dunford trained runner, she will put in a bold show.

The Final Countdown
So on Sunday evening we will know all the qualifiers for the 2017 National Meeting. Every year seems to be going quicker and quicker. It only seems like a few weeks ago we were pricing up Liscannor and Tradaree! It will be a nervous two weeks for those with qualifiers making sure they get their runners to Clonmel fit and well.

The betting should start to bulk up over the next week or ten days.

In the Derby there has been a fair bit of interest in Wi Can Riki over the past few days.

He is another dart for Gerry Holian to fire at the BoyleSports Derby.

While in the Oaks, Dicks Bimbo is all the rage. Her price could shorten very quick. Betting is available online www.Boylesports.com. keep up to date with all the movers in the market for the next few weeks. Betting in Sevenhouses is also available as well and both the English and Irish Derbys on the track scene.
