Superstar Susie Sapphire Favourite For Easter Cup Title At Shelbourne Park

This daughter of Droopys Jet – Jetstream Lynx blasted from trap four to take up the running in the opening semi-final and went on to win by three lengths in a time of 29.57.

The 2021 BoyleSports Irish Greyhound Derby winner is now the firm favourite to win the €25,000 prize with her odds cut into 4/9 from 13/8.

It was a desperately tight finish in behind the Oaks superstar with the Paul Hennessy trained Beach Avenue running on strong to grab second spot and is 20/1 to win the final. Darbys Delight was another head back in third and remains the 33/1 outsider in the betting.

Knight Tornado continued his winning streak by landing the second semi-final for trainer Graham Holland in a time of 29.70.

He had to fight off a challenge from his kennelmate Romeo Magico but Knight Tornado was too strong for him as he held his line between the final two bends.

This powerhouse is 5/1 from 6/1 to be crowned the Easter Cup champion while Romeo Magico 4/1 from 5/1 after finishing just a head behind in second. Priceless Jet ran a huge ran to finish third with his chances into 16/1 from 20/1.
