The anonymous winner struck a bullish €100 treble bet in a BoyleSports shop in the county, meaning they needed all three selected horses to win at the evening meeting at Dundalk to see a return.

The investment looked increasingly savvy however when Mehman (3/1) won the 5.00 and 4/1 shot Rocky Dreams followed up with a win in the 6.00.

The road to riches was complete when 4/1 pick Chally Chute won by half a length in the 8.00.

That small distance made it three winners from three selections and allowed the canny punter to return to the shop and collect a handsome total of €7,312.50.
