Al Boum Photo Backed For 3-In-A-Row After Consecutive Gold Cups

Al Boum Photo was a stunning winner of the 2020 Cheltenham Gold Cup winning the prestigious trophy for the second year in a row.

It was a tremendous day for his trainer Willie Mullins who trained the first four winners on the final day of the festival with the bonus of stable jockey Paul Townend being crowned leading jockey of the week. Burning Victory (12/1), Saint Roi (11/2) and Monkfish (5/1) all obliged for the top trainer before the main event took place.

Al Boum Photo then landed the Gold Cup by the short distance of a neck as the 10/3 favourite, with Santini in second and Lostintranslation back in third. The dual champion is now 5/1 favourite to win the 2021 Gold Cup with BoyleSports and join an illustrious list who have won three-in-a-row. Santini ran his heart out and has been handed a quote of 7/1 to come back next year and go one better.

It was a brilliant day for Closutton trainer Willie Mullins.

He claimed not only the Gold Cup with Al Boum Photo, but the first four winners on the card.
