The Gold Cup and Grand National winning jockey spoke with Leon Blanche this week at Fairyhouse, firstly discussing all the events from the Dublin Racing Festival last weekend, as well as his best race winning tips & each-way value for the selection of races at the Cheltenham Festival.

Ballymore Novices’ Hurdle & Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle

Robbie Power believes Minella Cocooner would be more suited to the Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle than the Ballymore at this year’s Cheltenham Festival. he thinks the Willie Mullins trained star would go better over the bigger trip and is also looking forward to seeing Journey With Me. Have a watch, below!

He said: “Minella Cocooner is more likely to go for the Albert Bartlett. He made all the running at Leopardstown in the Dublin Racing Festival and is a strong running horse and he just maintained that relentless gallop. I think he would be vulnerable in the Ballymore from what I saw at Leopardstown and should take his chance in the Albert Bartlett.

“I think Journey With Me will run at Naas this Saturday and that will be interesting. If he wins on Saturday, then he will go very close to going favourite for the Ballymore. I think we learnt more about the Albert Bartlett from the Novice Hurdle at the Dublin Racing Festival.

“Minella Crooner for Gordon Elliott is going to be a big player in the Albert Bartlett. He looked like he got done two out and was staying on strongly at the line, so I think he has an each-way chance.

“I’m looking forward to seeing Journey With Me whose form in his maiden hurdle win couldn’t have worked out any better with Kilcruit winning since and Minella Crooner, who was second to him that day as well, so that form is looking very strong.”
