A’Ali (5/1) got the day off to a flying start for Dettori after winning the Norfolk Stakes by a neck, holding off Ventura Rebel in a thrilling finish. It was a winner for Sir Michael Stoute then in the 3.05 race as Frankie cruised across the winning like onboard Sangarius (13/2) in the Hampton Court Stakes.

The double for John Gosden was up next with Star Catcher (4/1) obliging in the Ribblesdale Stakes and Stradivarius (Evens) landing the Gold Cup for the second year in a row.
