Dis To Land Big Pot For Meade

Ireland’s champion trainers, Aidan O’Brien and Willie Mullins, in both codes could be set for a very good day at their respective meetings this afternoon but other trainers could also make their journey worthwhile.

Stack Has Promising Colt On His Hands
The two main Classic trials at Leopardstown are difficult to assess with the unpredictability of how much improvement is in the Ballydoyle runners from one run to the next but on what we have seen so far Magical and Nelson would look hard to beat.

However, in the Amethyst Stakes the only three-year-old in the line up is picked to come out on top. Zihba has yet to be on grass and now has to run up to a mark very close to 110 if not higher so he could be one the bookies are willing to take on but Zihba could be worth taking the chance with.

Zihba does get almost a stone from his six rivals for his youth and that is a big plus and if he does just fall short of the rating required, that allowance will hopefully help him over the line. Stack introduced a smart juvenile in the opener at the Curragh yesterday and…

landed a few nice bets in the finale at that meeting so his team go to Leopardstown in good form.

Meade Has Dis To Land Big Pot
Noel Meade is another man who has been enjoying a good time of things since the turn of the season and that follows on from his best season in some time and the former champion trainer could well claim Killarney’s €50,000 Grade B Hurdle on Sunday with Dis Donc.

A Group 3 winner on soft ground in France, Dis Donc has some decent form in the book and in this sort of company he might be well enough treated to give a good account of himself.

The 12/1 shot was consistent in maiden company, meeting one too good on three occasions, but then he did win his maiden by a narrow margin and beat Antey, who will be remembered for his Punchestown victory and the retirement of Katie Walsh, and after that maiden win Dis Donc was just touched off in a handicap by Monotype who has also won since.

At Punchestown Dis Donc wasn’t disgraced behind True Self and

this track may just suit the Gigginstown horse.

Recommended Bets:
Zihba (5/1) – 2.35 Leopardstown
Dis Donc (12/1) – 2.55 Killarney
