Dominant Thistlecrack Is Gold Cup Favourite

Thistlecrack destroyed his four rivals in the King George and as a result he is now Evens from 5/2 to win the Gold Cup at Cheltenham.

Stablemate and runner-up Cue Card has been eased to 8/1 from 6/1 for the Gold Cup after his second place finish at Kempton.

Traders are expecting Thistlecrack to be the most popular choice with punters between now and March after he devoured his rivals so impressively at Kempton.

Yanworth meanwhile landed the Christmas Hurdle at Kempton under Barry Geraghty and has halved in price into 5/1 from 10/1 for the Champion Hurdle.

Following his win in the Grade 2 Knight Frank Juvenile Hurdle at Leopardstown, the Willie Mullins trained Bapaume is now 8/1 from 12/1 for the Triumph Hurdle. Landofhopeandglory has been eased to 10/1 from 6/1 whilst Defi Du Seuil is now the new 5/1 favourite from 6/1.

But Thistlecrack is the name on everybody’s lips after his performance in the King George placed him firmly at the head of the Gold Cup betting.
