Dusart Betting Odds Cut For Novices’ Chase At Cheltenham Festival After Exeter Win
Dusart is attracting some strong each-way support for a Novices’ Chase win at Cheltenham after making it two from two over fences with a convincing victory over three miles at Exeter.
The half-brother to Simonsig faced only two rivals when winning on chase debut at Leicester last month when half of the 18 fences were omitted due to low sun, but he saw off a sterner challenge on Wednesday when easing to an 11-length victory over the Paul Nicholls-trained Flash Collonges.
There may be plenty of room for improvement in the jumping department, but Dusart showed enough at Exeter to attract a fair bit of antepost custom.
BoyleSports have since trimmed the winner into 16/1 from 22/1 in the latest betting for both the Turners and Brown Advisory Novices Chases, ran over two and a half and three miles one furlong respectively.
At Leicester, Anglers Crag caught the eye when beating a 1/3 favourite on debut over obstacles and David Pipe’s new recruit from Ireland has now been cut into 40/1 from 100/1 to go on and land the Ballymore Novices’ Hurdle at the Festival next month.
Dusart is still very lightly raced, but we’re now 16/1 from 22/1 in the Brown Advisory and Turners Novice Chases so there’s enough confidence that he has another big performance in him.
