Elimay Odds For Cheltenham Shorten After Impressive Naas Performance

Elimay has seen her chances of Cheltenham Festival victory trimmed further following a convincing victory in the Opera Hat Mares’ Chase at Naas on Saturday.

The Willie Mullins-trained grey provided the middle leg of a Mark Walsh treble on the day as she cruised to a five and a half length win over Gordon Elliott’s Shattered Love to make it three wins from four chase starts after finishing second to stablemate Allaho last time out.

Elimay is now one of his very popular favourites in the first running of the Mares’ Chase. She really strolled into it at Naas and we’ve gone 5/2 from 7/2.

That credible showing at Thurles had already seen her backed all the way down to 7/2 from 10/1 for the Cheltenham Mares’ Chase, but her return to the winners’ enclosure means she is now a stronger favourite at 5/2 to score in the inaugural running of the race next month.

Runner-up Shattered Love is a 12/1 shot, but Willie Mullins dominates the antepost market with Benie Des Diuex and Colreevy also in the frame at 4/1 and 9/2, respectively.
