Epsom Derby 2014 – Australia Betting Odds

The Aidan O’Brien trained-Australia is now Evens from 5/4 for Epsom Derby glory next month with his nearest rival in the betting being the Godolphin-owned True Story, who is currently priced at 11/2.

The Dermot Weld-trained Fascinating Rock is priced at 14/1 alongside John Gosden’s Western Hymn and Roger Varian’s Kingston Hill who will be hoping to improve on his eighth place in the 2000 Guineas.

Two other Aidan O’Brien runners are steady in the betting at double figure prices. Orchestra, who landed the Chester Vase last week is priced at 16/1 alongside stable mate Geoffrey Chaucer, who finished third in the Derby Trial at Leopardstown on Sunday.

Liam Glynn, PR Executive at Boylesports said “Our traders want to keep Australia on our side and have clipped him into Evens from 5/4 and if the ground continues to soften at York, Godolphin’s True Story may not get his prep run on Thursday.”

He added “Australia is by far our worst Ante Post result at present. Stable mate, Orchestra, is not far behind and his current price of 16/1 is proving popular as an each-way alternative for punters.”
