Found Going For Gold At The Curragh

Popular in BoyleSports shops earlier in the week, Awtaad proved just how good a colt he is by continuing his rise up the ranks to overturn Newmarket winner Galileo Gold yesterday and there’s nothing to suggest that he won’t go on to be an interesting prospect in a Derby should they go down that route.

Ladies’ Day
If you want to catch the big one on day two of the Irish Guineas’ Festival make sure and polish off the brunch nice and early as the 1,000 Guineas is due off at 1.55 and Minding makes it a very different betting proposition now.

Dermot Weld’s Tanaza was a filly I felt might be up running a big race at a decent price but the change in ground would be a major concern for her chances now unfortunately.

It was a bold move by connections to supplement Jet Setting for this race at a cost of €30,000 and while I don’t think she’ll win, I do think Adrian Keatley and his owners could be rewarded for the move with a big run on conditions she clearly relishes and…

at 10/1 she represents value.

More Glory For Found
Now that Time Test has been ruled out due to the ground, just the seven are due to post for the Tattersalls Gold Cup and it would look to come down to the two most recent Group One winners in the field, Found and Fascinating Rock.

Found is a filly that would have preferred the ground to be nicer than what it is going to be while Fascinating Rock won’t be as inconvenienced by the conditions but Found is still expected to come out on top.

Later in the season there might be some more interesting tussles between the pair and maybe Fascinating Rock will have his day over her again but on this occasion it is hard to see the form of the Moresbridge be reversed although 4/6 doesn’t make much appeal.

One At A Price
Glenmayne is a filly that could be up to winning again following her maiden success at Limerick last time. The Jessica Harrington-trained four-year-old caused a 14/1 upset when winning last month and is 10/1 to claim the Joanna Lumley 70th Birthday Celebration Handicap.

The step up in trip to 10-furlongs looks ideal for the filly who is from a family with winning form over further than a mile so that doesn’t hold a concern and the trainer has her horses in exceptional form of late.

It’s a trappy contest with Birthplace in the line up and Newsman is one to watch on nicer ground but Glenmayne is the selection.
