Green The Lucky Colour For Galway Races Ladies Day

Ladies Day at the Galway Races will see a host of fashionistas take to Ballybrit on Thursday to showcase their outfits and headpieces that they have been perfecting for weeks.

The colour of the winning dress is one of the big questions on the day and we’ve tipped a White or Cream ensemble at 7/4 to catch the eye of the judges.

A colour that has been taking the runways by storm is green, be it a pastel or a khaki, and at 7/2, it is the second favourite to be worn by the lucky winner of one of the biggest Ladies Days in Ireland.

Despite the dismal weather, it’s still summer and ladies may opt for a more feminine and floral touch; pink or purple is priced at 11/2. Also on offer at 11/2 is Black and Blue, which was worn by the 2013 winner.

Red is a popular choice with Ladies Day novices but it joins Brown and Yellow at the bigger price of 10/1. Orange doesn’t look like it will be the new black at Galway as it is bottom of the betting at 16/1.

Last year’s winner wore a mint green skirt and white top which are the two colours dominating the betting ahead of this year’s competition.
