Joseph O’Brien – Intricately Improved Since Leopardstown

Ahead of Sunday’s 1000 Guineas at Newmarket, BoyleSports Horse Racing Ambassador, Joseph O’Brien believes that Intricately will run a big race.

Speaking exclusively to us on Thursday, O’Brien said “The plan is still very much Newmarket on Sunday. She’s improved from her Leopardstown run last time, although whether she’s improved enough to win, we’ll have to wait and see. She’s in good form and we’ll see what draw she gets tomorrow.

I couldn’t be happier with her since Leopardstown and on her two-year-old form, she’s got be a contender.

He added “It’s as open a 1000 Guineas as I can remember. Rhododendron is favourite but I was impressed with both of John Gosden’s fillies in their trials.”

Currently Joseph’s father trains the antepost favourite Rhododendron, who is priced at 15/8, while Intricately is 16/1 to improve on her seasonal reappearance that saw her finish fourth to Hydrangea (12/1) in the 1000 Guineas Trials at Leopardstown last month.
