Logical Song In Tune For Mullins

The Dan Moore Handicap Chase is the feature race of the day at Fairyhouse on Sunday and the €100,000 contest may cap off a good weekend for the JP McManus team.

People To Be Happy With Taaffe
The famous green and gold of JP McManus were carried to victory in the feature races at both Punchestown and Kempton on Saturday with Any Second Now and Modus respectively…

and Peoples Park can continue that decent run at Fairyhouse.

Peoples Park looks an ideal candidate for the Dan Moore over the same distance here last month before going to Leopardstown to run in the Paddy Power Chase on the second day of their Christmas Festival.

On that occasion Peoples Park failed to land a blow but rather than being put off by the handicappers reassessment, the failure of Tom Taaffe’s charge to not land a blow in that race can be put down to the extended trip and maybe the competitive nature of that Paddy Power Chase.

Here he is back over 2m1f and that should prove ideal and with the small field to contend with, hopefully at odds of 4/1, he can oblige in the hands of local jockey Barry Geraghty.

Mother And Son Can Sing The Tune
A difficult card at Fairyhouse can hopefully be made a bit easier by the mother and son partnership of Mags and Danny Mullins who team up with Logical Son in the three-mile handicap hurdle.

The fact that the bookies are going 7/1 the field about this race tells you just how competitive it is, but Logical Song is a French recruit that has shown a liking for testing conditions and…

can hopefully prove a good each way option despite the burden of top weight.

That said, in both his wins to date, Logical Song has carried top weight to win off a mark of 95 and 102 and he may just have enough in hand to do it again for a trainer who is watching her horses run quite well recently, with her last three bumper runners all making the frame.

Recommended Bets
Logical Song EW (15/2) – 2.00 Fairyhouse
Peoples Park (4/1) – 2.30 Fairyhouse
