Noble Mission Shortened For Champion Stakes

QIPCO Champion Stakes

Outright Betting

The QIPCO Champion Stakes takes place at Ascot on Saturday and Boylesports can report that the latest mover overnight is the Lady Cecil-trained Noble Mission.

Noble Mission was last seen finishing second to Lucky Lion in the Group 1 Grosser Dallmayr-Preis at Munich in July and following support overnight, is now 9/2 from 5/1.

Initially, Noble Mission was installed at 10/1 when the race was priced up last month and with his four wins coming on soft ground conditions so far in 2014 and rain forecast for the Ascot region, punters believe that conditions will be in his favour.

Currently, Cirrus Des Aigles heads the race betting at 6/4 with Dermot Weld’s Free Eagle next in the betting at 2/1 to follow up his recent Group 3 Enterprise Stakes win at Leopardstown.

With the ground at Ascot deteriorating and more rain forecast for the Berkshire area, Free Eagle is relatively easy to back and as a result the French raider, Cirrus Des Aigles, is now the warm 6/4 favourite from 5/2 to go one better than his 2012 runner up spot to the mighty Frankel.

Aidan O’Brien’s Ruler Of The World finished ninth in the Arc and is currently 8/1 to bounce back to winning ways whilst John Gosden’s Western Hymn is next in the betting at 10/1.
