O’Brien’s Arc Candidate In Good Order

Europe’s richest race day takes place on Sunday at Chantilly where the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe takes centre stage and Enable will be the main focus of attention.

O’Brien Is In Some Order
Shortly after 3pm on Sunday we may all be tipping our hat to John Gosden and his star filly Enable if she can cap an incredible year by winning one of the sport’s toughest assignments.

The trip isn’t a problem, she gets weight for being a three-year-old filly, she’s won on unfavourable ground before and there’s doubts over two of the next three in the betting.

However, a long season can often catch up on fillies at this stage and there’ll never be anything easy about winning an Arc. It’s not the sort of race that you’d want to be lumping in on at Evens or slightly bigger but having a bet on Order Of St George makes much more appeal.

Initially money arrived for Winter when Ryan Moore was locked up beside her name, but after his Group One double yesterday at Newmarket, O’Brien’s mover in the Arc market has been Order Of St George and I couldn’t argue with that.

At 9/1 he’s definitely an each-way play having been placed in the race last year at the same track.

In fact, there are few concerns about the stayer once he can get a good position early under Donnacha O’Brien and the final furlong could be fascinating if Enable and Order Of St George are going at it with one or two others.

Go With Mulvany Again
Tipperary’s mixed card is a tricky one for punters, especially with Jer’s Girl making a quick reappearance in the Istabraq Hurdle.

She only won last Monday but there’s every reason to suggest that outing would leave her spot on for this assignment but does the dual Grade 1 winner need two races on that sort of ground in such a short space of time? It’s still hard to back against her.

One at a bigger price earlier on the card is On The Go Again for Michael Mulvany. The four-year-old won the prestigious Lartigue Hurdle at Listowel a few weeks ago and while he probably doesn’t have an awful lot of secrets from the handicapper, in this sort of form against a few rivals it’s hard to make a case for, On The Go Again may well be capable of notching up another nice prize.

Recommended Bets:
On The Go Again (7/2) – 2.20 Tipperary
Order Of St George EW (9/1) – 3.05 Chantilly
