Robbie Power on Sizing John & Supasundae
Sizing John was very distressed after the race on Thursday, he went straight back to the stable yard where the vets had a look at him and he was found to be clinically abnormal post-race. There will be nothing found until Jessie’s vets have a look at him today and something should come to light.
Yesterday was just too bad to be true but the horses are not machines and these things happen in racing.
As for Supasundae, he ran an absolute cracker of a race, he was a mare’s allowance away from being a grade 1 winner! Apple’s Jade getting 7 pound off him was some difference in her favour, better ground will suit him and he’s now a major player for the World Hurdle.
We had to do a lot of work ourselves yesterday and he’s never had to make the running before so he was having a good look around in front. It will suit him having a lead, last year he didn’t come into his own until the spring and he’s a lot stronger than he was so hopefully on good ground in March he can do the job in the World Hurdle.
