Royal Ascot Day 4 Tips – Niall Cronin

Even before flying out to Ascot this week Irish 1,000 Guineas winner Jet Setting was already creating headlines having been sold on Monday for £1,300,000.

Aptly named
That in itself is a fairytale but there is many chapters to the Jet Setting story and another chapter could be completed on Friday. Jet Setting will carry the colours of China Horse Club for the first time in the Coronation Stakes and the race looks made for her.

Since joining Adrian Keatley the filly has simply transformed from a maiden into a Classic winner and with conditions truly in her favour a Royal Ascot triumph looks next for the CV.

Jet Setting is just 7/4 to add this Group One but having beaten the best filly around in Minding when claiming the Irish 1,000 Guineas, that 7/4 looks value.

Ballydoyle Support
The money was well and truly down on Even Song at Royal Ascot yesterday and after she justified the faith some of the winnings was reinvested in Order Of St George who also didn’t let them down so it is significant that there has been some support for Beacon Rock in the King Edward VII Stakes and he’s not just 3/1.

That said, Humphrey Bogart ran a nice race in the Epsom Derby behind Harzand and could well be up to putting forward an even better show in what is known as the ‘Ascot Derby’.

Yesterday it looked as though Epsom Oaks runner-up Architecture ran a bit flat following her brave effort behind Minding and with Humphrey Bogart making a similar quick reappearance, that would also be a concern, But, he has had plenty of racing and appears to take his races well and at 7/1 he might be able to cause a bit of an upset here for Richard Hannon and Sean Levey.

Back On The Flat
Max Dynamite didn’t manage to make his presence felt in the Ascot Gold Cup yesterday but Willie Mullins won’t want to leave Royal Ascot empty handed and Ivan Grozny gives him a chance in the Duke Of Edinburgh Stakes.

At 12/1, the talented hurdler is an each-way play here because the trip and ground should suit and

it shouldn’t be forgotten that Ivan Grozny had some decent flat form when trained in France so it would be no surprise to see a bold show.

Recommended Bets
Humphrey Bogart 7/1 – 3:05 Royal Ascot
Jet Setting 7/4 – 4:20 Royal Ascot
Ivan Grozny 12/1 – 5:00 Royal Ascot
