Telescope Searching For King George VI Victory

King George VI

Outright Betting

At the six day entry stage, 12 runners remain in Saturday’s King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot with the Sir Michael Stoute trained Telescope currently heading the market at 7/4.

Epsom Oaks winner Taghrooda is next in the betting at 9/4 to remain unbeaten whilst the Aidan O’Brien trained Magician who was last seen finishing second to The Fugue in the Prince Of Wales Stakes at Royal Ascot is on offer at 7/2.

After been supplemented for the race at a cost of £75,000, Eagle Top who is a stable mate of Taghrooda is priced at 6/1 to land the spoils whilst Trading Leather and Mukhadram who was last seen landing the Eclipse at Sandown are both priced at 8/1.

Taghrooda is by far the worst result in the ante-post book having been supported down from 5/1 to her current odds of 9/4.

He remains steady at 7/4 but judging by his popularity at present we may yet see the Epsom Oaks, winner who bypassed the Irish equivalent last weekend, challenge for favouritism come race day on Saturday.
