Tizzard Set For Theatrical Performance

Outright Betting

Clues for a number of the Festival meetings will be on offer this weekend and after a trying week for Colin Tizzard, he may be able to enjoy a big race success to ease the pain of Thistlecrack’s absence.

Tizzard’s Guide To Success
If Theatre Guide can win the BetBright Chase it would only represent small compensation for Colin Tizzard and his team after the news of this week but the 10-year-old is picked to win the race for a second year in a row.

Given a speculative Gold Cup entry, Theatre Guide would be a long shot if lining up in the Cheltenham showpiece next month. Although, to win this BetBright Chase he’ll have to win off a career high mark

and on a track that appears to suit him and a trip that is ideal, Theatre Guide can return to winning ways.

Double Shuffle is an obvious danger and being a seven-year-old he is open to more progression at this stage of his career. Theatre Guide won nicely at Cheltenham in December and was probably stretched a bit too much in the Welsh National won by his stable companion Native River but he ticks a lot of boxes here at 8/1.

A Pleasant Winner For Mullins
A few Aintree Grand National entries and possible BoyleSports Irish Grand National candidates will be lining up for the Bobbyjo Chase at Fairyhouse on Saturday and Pleasant Company is the selection.

Ross O’Sullivan’s mare Baie Des Iles is the rapid improver in the race who will love the conditions underfoot and the conditions of the race which sees her getting 7lbs from the selection despite being just 2lbs lower in the official ratings.

Although, Pleasant Company is expected to progress from his first start of the season in the Thyestes Chase and build on that.

The nine-year-old had some decent form over both hurdles and fences and is still relatively unexposed over the larger obstacles having just had five runs for Mullins. Testing ground doesn’t seem to be a hindrance for the nine-year-old and hopefully he can get back to winning ways here.

Percy Can Score For Kelly
Presenting Percy could well be aimed at the Pertemps Qualifier for Pat Kelly and Davy Russell who won the race last year with Mall Dini but first the At The Races Handicap Hurdle is on the agenda. After running well at Punchestown to finish fourth on his last start, Presenting Percy can score in this competitive looking contest.

Sure Reef has had his issues but is a decent sort, as too is Thebarrowman and Marakoush was an expensive purchase for owner Barry Connell so there’s plenty of depth to the race but Presenting Percy is fit and ready after that recent Punchestown effort. He is likely to be more suited by the track here at Fairyhouse on this occasion.
