Will Battaash Reverse 2018 Defeat At Royal Ascot?

The Charles Hills trained Battaash finished second to Blue Point in last year’s Kings Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot with the son of Dark Angel out again in this year’s renewal to try and reverse the finishing order.

Battaash is 2/1 to land the spoils this time around having been 6/1 when betting opened on the race.

Blue Point is the second favourite at 5/2 but we have been keeping the five-year old on side all year with his price remaining steady.

The Charlie Appleby bay has remained unbeaten so far this year with three successes at Meydan and looks like a key player over this 5-furlong Group 1.

Equilateral has been cut into 16/1 from 20/1 following some significant bets on the four-year old colt who was originally 33/1.

He is a stable companion to Battaash and is without a win since September when winning at Leicester.

Aidan O’Brien has never won the Kings Stand Stakes, but he trains the third favourite here in Sergei Prokofiev who is now 8/1 from 10/1. He finished fourth in a Group 2 at Newmarket earlier this month behind the previously mentioned Equilateral and the winner Mabs Cross, who is also an 8/1 chance.
