Irish punters from Donegal & Antrim land huge Lucky 15 horse racing wins

Horse Racing punters from Donegal and Antrim are counting the cash following a run of winners which rewarded them on Monday.

The anonymous customer from Co. Donegal placed a €0.50 each-way Lucky 15 in a BoyleSports shop on Monday, a bet which cost a total of €15.

That investment looked like a wise one after victories at Windsor for Cuban Breeze (10/1) and It’s How We Roll (14/1), as well as a win at Carlisle for 16/1 shot Crownthorpe.

It all hinged on the 8.45 at Carlisle, where the stunning run of winners was completed by 10/1 selection Glorious Rio.

That made it four winners from four and allowed the lucky winner to return to the shop and swap their betslip for a jaw-dropping total of €19,326.04.

Lawrence Lyons, spokesperson for BoyleSports, said: “We have to hand it to our Donegal customer on their savvy bet because picking four winners out is no mean feat.

“They have over €19,000 to show for it and the winners weren’t exactly well fancied, so we have to say they deserve every cent.”

Elsewhere on Monday, someone’s morning was transformed into a memorable one for a County Antrim punter, also following a Lucky 15 bet which returned a juicy payout.

The anonymous customer placed the bet online via their BoyleSports account, picking four horses running at Cork and Naas. They placed a 75p each-way Lucky 15, amounting to a stake of £22.50.

Only two of the four won, but Voce Del Palio done so having been picked out at 50/1 in the 3.40 at Naas, while 16/1 selection Watch The Weather won the 4.35 at Cork.

Éclair De Beaufeu was also placed in the 3.00 at Cork at 33/1, as was Let Her Flow (50/1) in the 4.00 at the same track.

With two winners and two places from four selections, the canny punter was able to refresh their account to see a tasty amount of £5,530.26 added to their balance.
